Dunklin Fire Responds to Commercial 1st Alarm at Dow Chemical

(Post Date 11-21-2007)

On 11-20-07 at 10:10 a.m. Firefighters responded to the Dow Chemical Corporation in Pevely for a fire in the plant.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a small fire inside a commercial building on the property. The fire was quickly extinguished by Dunklin’s first arriving fire crew, and no injuries were reported. Damage to the structure was very minor, credited by the quick thinking of Dow Chemical employees calling for the Fire Department to respond without delay.

Several mutual aid fire companies immediately respond to any type of fire reported at Dow Chemical due to the large structures, and manufacturing processes. Thanks to the Herculaneum, Festus, Jefferson R-7, Antonia, and Rock Community for also responding to stand-by.
