Dunklin Provides Mutual Aid to Festus Fire
(Post Date 11-02-2007)
On two occasions in October Dunklin Firefighters gladly provided Mutual Aid assistance to the Festus Fire District.
Two separate Fires occurring on Festus Main Street, consumed approximately 10 business’ before being placed under control. Festus Fire requested Dunklin provide assistance by deploying our 75’ Ladder Aerial Apparatus, as well as Dunklin Manpower to assist with bringing the fire under control.
Often times during large fires, it is not uncommon for other fire districts to call upon neighboring fire departments to provide mutual aid assistance. Mutual Aid assistance is critical in gaining the upper hand on large fires.
The Dunklin Fire Protection District remained manned with our firefighters while assisting, and did not require an out of district move-up.
The Dunklin Fire Protection District expresses it’s sorrow to the business owners who may have experienced a loss in the recent Festus Main Street Fires.
