Dunklin receives donations to fund Automatic External Defibrillator
(Post Date 02-09-2008)
The firefighters would like to thank the Dow Chemical Corporation, The Mississippi River Eagles Club and the Metal Tek Corporation for their generous donations in helping the Fire District fund much needed Life Saving
Equipment.
The equipment, commonly referred to as an AED or Automatic External Defibrillator, was purchased through State Bid Pricing and placed into service approximately one month ago. The Fire District was able to purchase two of the AED devices, manufactured by Zoll for just over $2,000.00. The AED’s are critical in helping save the life of a person suffering from cardiac arrest.
Since placed into service only one month ago, the AED has already been successfully used by Dunklin Firefighters on a patient, and may have contributed to saving that patients life.
