The District provides fire protection, fire prevention, rescue, hazardous materials, and emergency medical service response.
Administration Headquarters and Fire Station # 1 is centrally located within the District's Layout, and is the point from which all Dunklin apparatus responds. The district provides fire protection to the City of Pevely, some areas of the city of Herculaneum, Horine and Several Surrounding Communities through Mutual Aid Agreements. The district proudly protects approximately 22 square miles of venue, and a population of approximately 6,000 citizens. On average the District responds to 1200 emergency calls per year. 9-1-1 Telephone call's are received by and radio dispatched by Jefferson County 9-1-1 Dispatch located in House Springs Missouri, which is an outside agency and is charged a flat rate annually for this service.
Districts Geographical Layout
The Dunklin Fire Protection District is located in the City of Pevely, County of Jefferson and the State of Missouri. Pevely is approximately 25 minutes south of Saint Louis, and the Eastern Portion of Pevely boarders the Mississippi River. Within the District is Residential, Commercial, and Industrial Zoning.
The District also provides emergency services to Interstate 55, U.S. Highway 61-67 and State Road Z. These three highly traveled highways account for a large amount of our emergency responses.
